Paylio

Multi-tenant HRMS payroll for UAE SMEs, built WPS-compliant from the schema up.

Problem

UAE SMEs need payroll that satisfies the Wage Protection System, but enterprise HRMS is overbuilt and over-priced for a 20-person company.

Solution

A multi-tenant payroll engine with RBAC, tenant-isolated data, subscription billing, and a deliberately scoped MVP: single-bank, monthly salaried payroll first.

Architecture

NestJS API · Next.js console · multi-tenant Postgres · Stripe subscriptions · role-based permission layer

Why it's built this way

Scoped the MVP to single-bank monthly payroll instead of every WPS edge case - the smallest slice that's still legally valid ships revenue months sooner and de-risks the compliance surface. NestJS for its module/DI structure, so payroll, tenancy, and billing stay isolated as the product grows.

Impact →Owned product - recurring USD-market revenue, scoped to ship the smallest WPS-valid slice.
